It starts out by you having to open up the top part of the printer and lay it on the place where it scans the paper. After you put it in and close the top, the scanner with come across twice on the paper. Then if you're copying the paper in black & white the black & white ink cartridges will come in the print head which you probably think is the top of the printer even though it's the middle of the printer. Then the ink nozzles will go under the cartridges and shoot out the ink and the ink is so small that it's barely visible. The ink will come out in the paper that it had before, then once it's done the rollers will carry it out and that whole process will take about 20-30 depending how fast your printer is.
